I have forwarded this to the powers that be. Hopefully this will be resolved for you soon.

Ok, I've just been briefed on your situation.

Things are behaving normally. Disabling anonymous ftp means that anonymous users are not allowed to upload/download files to your server, so unless anyone other than you is able to upload/download files, you are fine.

As for the login syntax, anonymous users can login via ftp using anything as a username, hence the term "anonymous".

thank you, is there a way to deny anon users to see what is on the anon space?

ps: for the login syntax, i was talking about users created from cpanel, not anonymous, as example:

domain: test.com
main username: test
ftp user created from cpanel: john

so i login with user: john@test.com but internet explorer cannot handle this syntax so if there is another syntax like for email (john+test.com) would be a nice thing.

thank you

I'm having the same issues. I've disabled all anon access in the FTP manager (by unchecking those two check boxes and clicking save), and yet you may still login to my ftp using the "Anonymous" username and any password. It places the user in public_ftp, to which he has read access.

In other words, the checkbox that allows or denies anonymous UPLOAD access works - the other one does not.

Also echoing the other user's comment, it would be nice if there weren't an ampersand in ftp usernames by default, so users can login with a ftp://userass@host style URL. If this can't be changed, I understand.

it support told me, if anon access is disabled, you can still login, but you will not be able to download a file, so all is ok.

bye
