only "index of" shows

I just signed up and created my site a about 6 hours ago.

When I enter http://69.93.184.130/~mikemilk/ to view my site (before dns propogates) all I see is index of ~mikemilk and a parent directory.

If I click on my site in the directory, it will come up, but is this normal or have I done something wrong? I am assuming the above link will take me to my acctual site.

I created a new folder inside the public_html folder, and named it index.html (is that right?) and put my site in there and just in the public folder as well.

I have uploaded it via dreamweaver, internet explorer (drag and drop) and via cpanel.

And the public folder did not come loaded with a hostgator.html file either, but I did delete everything in there (including my public_html folder in it's entirety, but created a new one in cpanel)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have already suffered 3 mild strokes and two major embalisyms trying to figure this out.

It's the slash at the end of the index.html file. You have it named "index.html/". Rename it to "index.html" (and same with cgi-bin...you renamed that to cgi-bin/) and it will work fine.

Edit: just to be clear, right now, you have index.html as a directory (that's why I saw the slash). index.html needs to be a file, not a directory. Rename untitled-2.html to index.html, and get rid of the index.html/ directory.
