One Free Dedicated IP & SSL for Resellers

I would like to see one free dedicated IP address and SSL given to ALL resellers, just like the Business Plan account holders get.

Yes, but for what the reseller packages offer (WHMCS) it would cost a lot more to incorporate the SSL and dedicated IP address. But still, my vote is for yes

Or maybe they could at least meet us half way- with either a free dedicated IP address, OR free SSL.

Although I'm not a reseller, I voted NO.

Think about what HG gives you - WHMAP, WHMCS, loads more. Unless you want a price rise, you can do without IP and SSL's

If you are a reseller, yes, it would go with the territory. An option would be to give up the IP if you did not need it and get a $2.00 discount.

Really kind of a crazy discussion anyway; depends really on the percentage of resellers needing a dedicated IP vs. those who don't. I have never had a reseller package where I did not receive at least 5 dedicated IPs until I came to Host Gator.

I can see your point too, why pay for something you do not need.

HG has observed before that it charges the same amount for IPs that it pays. So your "included in the monthly hosting fee" would mean either that the fee gets raised to cover the IP, or expenditures equivalent to the cost of the IP would have to be reduced--such as for support personnel, server equipment, comm lines, etc. Nothing is free.

Adding it to the Business package would be a way to keep the package at its current price...almost the only way, now that limits were raised on the package below it.

One of the problems with polls like this is that customers of any service will almost always vote for a lower price, more features, etc., if it's a yes/no question.

For example, somebody could post a poll asking "Should HG give each customer a $20 bill on his/her birthday? Yes/No" and get an overwhelmingly positive response.

Getting a $20 bill from HG on my birthday would not be a positive thing imo. I have too many bills as it is, and I really would hate to get one for my birthday.

This is silly.

If you want a dedicated IP & SSL just pay for it.

Anything that costs extra, I want left out of the initial package. If I need it I'll pay for it when I need it. It also helps to determine the cost of certain features.
