Hello,
I seem to have a problem with one particular address not being able to send me mail. It's not bouncing, but it's not getting here either. My auto-responder is not responding to it, so it's not even arriving as spam (the auto-responder seems to auto-respond to spam as well) and the Spam is not being deleted so it should be here but it isn't. i can send mails to the offending address without problems, it just can't send to me. By the way , that address can send to other e-mail addresses on other domains fine. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks. H. |

a support ticket with the headers etc from the sender? Being on shared not a lot you can do otherwise.

Thanks, I'll talk the sender through getting me the headers in a text file (can't exactly send me the mail as I'm not receiving it.) and I'll get that onto support.

If the message is not making it to the server it will be hard for support here to determine the problem. I would start with having technical support at the other domain check the mail logs and see what is happening on their end. If your domain was formerly on one of their servers there may be a DNS record still there. I would also double check any filters you might have set on your domain in your cPanel.

Will check filters, DNS issues must be out as I did not host the domain there before.

The best solution for this is to go to spamassassin and whitelist the said sending mail address (or the whole server if its trustable like *@sendserver.tld)

Done thanks. It'll be tonight before I know if it's worked (when they can test it by sending me a message).

In adition, some times deleting a box and reopening it repares some strange bugs, like a "Reboot".

Hi,
Hypothetically speaking, if I were to do that (delete/recreate), how do I back up the mailbox and restore it so as not to lose any of the folders, settings, sent/received mail, etc? I suppose I could use IMAP and back up each folder manually by moving the messages to my local hard drive, and then copying them back, but this seems a very long-winded solution and there must be something simpler. Thanks. H. |
