Question Re: Ok where is it?

Ok well I'm going to take a chance to ask here anyways I don't feel like waiting 48 hours, hopefully sombody can help me here. Ok 2 questions.

1. On the top of my page I have unwanted text. I got onto live chat to ask them how to get rid of this. They told me to go into cpanel and look for a folder that has all my html text strings for my main page then from there delete the unwanted text. I looked under file management but I cant find any folder that has my main page text coding. Does anybody know where this is located?

2. I got html coding for a button I want to put at the bottom of my page but I don't know how to insert this html code. Can sombody help with this?

Thank you for any help...

Cool Re: Ok where is it?

Yes I looked in there and thank you that does have all my front page coding. But the text at the very top of my page isn't there. I need to get rid of it. My site is Curereflux.com and at the top of the page I see Cureflux.com in white text I need to get rid of that but not finding it in the coding. I even copied and pasted in notepad to use the find function and it says it's not there. Where else could it be so I can delet it?

Look for a setting in Site Studio for "name of site", or "your domain" or "your company" or such, that it is picking up.

You should be able to log into SiteStudio and go to the Site Settings. In looking at the demo I would guess you have a typo in the Global Settings section where you enter your Firm Name.

The upside to creating a website in a program such as SiteStudio is that it is pretty easy to get a nice looking page up quickly. The downside is you lose some flexibility in that you may have to live with the methods the software uses. As for the title, I would suggest typing in your correct URL there and see if it changes. I have not used SiteStudio so I really don't have any idea how you might add the code for your donate button. You should be able to paste it in somewhere in the editting screen. Maybe someone else who has used it can point out where that would be.

You can use any HTML editor. There are a number of them from free (such as NVu) to expensive (such as Dreamweaver or Expression Web.) You can do a google search for HTML editor or webpage software and many have trials that you can download.

Do note, however, that while these tools do allow a lot more flexibility there is a learning curve and it will take some time to put together your site.

Ok yea that is a problem. I have no html knowledge whatsoever. Isn't there a webbuilder I can use that acts alot like a word proccesser and use that and of course just host with HG?

Yes, the programs I mentioned all allow you to create the page in a window much like a word processor but you also can see the code so that you can add code. Programs like Dreamweaver and Expression Web are widely used and there are books you can buy to learn more on how they can be used. All also generally have templates available that you can use as a starting point. They are expensive, however, but powerful. If you do a web search you can find other programs such as Coffeecup Software's editor and similar programs that are less expensive. NVu is free. You can use about anything with your HG account.

You would just upload the pages to your account using the username and password for the account. There are directions on using the FTP in the programs to upload your changes.
