Sometimes, when I'm sent an interesting video or see one on YouTube, I embed the video in a blog entry. Is this okay?
I've noticed a few news stories about YouTube and, I think, Viacom, so I'm not sure of the legalities. So, I just wanted to make sure it's okay with Hostgator. (I'm also emailing support but I'm assuming other users have a general idea of the policy.) Thanks. |

Hi
Yes it's perfectly fine to link to YouTube content as long as it's not full length copyright movies you're linking to. If it's normal, everyday YouTube content I would think you have nothing to worry about.

This could be classed as torrents and warez. I understand linking to illegal and copyright material (torrents and warez) is against the HostGator TOS, so I would say same for full length, copyright movies. Obviously HostGator have the definitive answer
