Where are the windows machines. I know this is probably a mute question in Linux land, but some of us are addicted to Bills Baby. The website has said 'coming soon' for a long time now. Everywhere you go on the site you can see tracks leading to the Windows servers, but alas. So exactly when are these servers going to be available?

Jordonlw, are you a company spokesman or represent Hostgator? I am wondering because I have a time critical switch to make for all of my Windows sites.
Thanks |

Nothing official from HG on this subject?? Why no response from them? I do see some entries about windows in March of 2007 surely they are not this far behind.. But how about a response from HG

Yes, they are that far behind. A few of us beta tested windows servers a few months ago. Supposedly they are coming soon but there has not been an official statement yet.

Thanks Slapshot, were the beta testers able to hang onto the windows services after beta?

I used to hang in a torrent tracker's support channel.
Whenever it happened that the tracker was down, we saw almost instantly lots of people coming to the channel asking "tracker down? When will it be up?". So what can you answer to that? Even those that were working on it couldn't say, they were just trying to fix is as soon as possibe. So we started to answer, many times even before they asked: "In 15 minutes!". And quite often we were right. My point here is that it's very difficult to give an answer when not anyone knows the answer. And now you might say "Can't they just give a rough estimate?". Well they did, in January 2007, when they said: "in March".

So educate me - there seems to be different croc levels. like junior croc, emporor croc, etc. What is this all about. Do any of the croc levels work for HG?? or exactly how do croc levels occur??
