Default Oh geeze, I'm in deep . . .

I've only built one other website in the past and it was a very simple one with an old AOL press program that I simply CuteFTP'ed up to Delphi. One thing I did like about that program is you could click to view the entire code of the page and tweak it with anything else you wanted to add that it didn't write for you.

I wanted to get a site up fast and did with HG's site builder, but I can't figure out how to get a counter working (I get the little box with the X in it). When I open Control Panel I am clueless what all that stuff is or how it works. Have I scared you all yet? I'm just starting, but so far I'm pleased with how much I've been able to get done so fast, um, especially not knowing what I'm doing, and the ability to do it until I become more skilled. I'll probably pick y'alls brains before it's over. I wish I knew how to put the tour names (towns) under the "Places To Step Back Into" as buttons under buttons (subbuttons? ) on the side instead of paragraphs with links. I can write my own HTML in the text, but not edit the template itself (I think).

And yeah, the falling leaves are kinda corny but I liked them for temporary seasonal effect. Should I can the falling leaves?

Is this a too terrible start? www.astepbackintime.net

Autumn,

I'm unable to see the falling leaves in firefox (just a note).
Otherwise I think you're off to an exceptional start

Personally I'd recommend abandoning the builder and manually delving into the code -- but don't rip apart the site yet!

Create another folder within your account and then play with code there, that way your existing site is available and you can have a little sandbox off to the corner to build things in.

Great start and keep up the good work
Very nicely done.

Thanks for looking it over. In the future I'll probably tackle more code myself. But right now I'm busy researching the actual tours I'll be giving, making my own historical clothing/costumes to give them in, plus working full-time at another job! Whew! I'm just glad that site builder could get me started! I honestly have no clue what anything in C panel is.

Oh, and you couldn't see the fallling leaves because I decided they were overkill and took them off.
