Off-site, online backup system for small businesses

This is a new business venture, which I would also like to promote to HG members - if anyone is looking for that something extra to offer to their clients this could be it! A small application is installed on the client's PC or Server, a folder is selected to be monitored (future developments and releases will allow multiple folder selections), the client decides how regularly to check that folder (10mins, 30mins, 1hr, 24hr) and the application checks the local file against the server file and if the local is newer than the server it backs it up to the server automatically - no user intervention at all.

Files can be restored as required, to any pc, given that the application has been installed etc.

I'm being a little naive, but I'm hoping that this will be the site that gives me the chance to follow a dream and work for myself!

Good luck with the dream! Will this service take care of backing up all of my clients sites at once (if I purchace the package as a reseller) or do they have to done individually?

Out of curiosity why not just use the backup feature built into WHM? or is that just for dedicated? not sure

I'm not exactly sure what you mean - if you mean can it be installed on your server and used to back up your clients site the answer is yes IF you are on a Windows deicated box. We are looking into a Linux (and Mac) version but that will be slow time.

The way I envisage this being of use to resellers such as yourself is as an addon feature for your clients, in that you sell the package to your customer and they install the software on their company/personal PCs and backup data to our servers - you charge them 2p per mb and pay us 1p per mb etc (only ballpark figures for explanation purposes only).
