Hi there,
Sorry if this is wrong forum but for some reason I can not post elsewhere... Is it possible to install http://www.nutsmail.com/ on shared hosting plans? From what I see on their install (pdf) docs it requires access to root or folders I can not see. The closes folder structure related to mail I found was /home/user/mail/ Thank you, |

You would not have access to root on the shared servers so you would need a VPS or dedi for this software.

Hi!
Actually, Nutsmail on our shared servers should work fine last time I tried. Nutsmail is just another script that connects to the IMAP server on the server, so you shouldn't have any issues with this, except we may need to whitelist your account in our firewall. Have you tried setting this up? I'm going to set this up on my server and see if it works w/o root intervention tonight.

Hi Jacob,
No I have not purchased Nutsmail yet as I did not want to waste the $ if my plan does not support it. Do post back if you get it to work, I would much rather upgrade webmail client than forward mail say to gmail. Thanks for your time. |

I was able to get this setup without any problems on our reseller hosting, so this should also work for our shared customers.
http://www.nutsmail.com/assets/files...structions.pdf Those are the instructions I used, and they worked well.

Thanks guys.
I did a test drive of their solution and was not that impressed. The skins are really nice but the beauty is really only skin deep as it depends on FRAMES and it quickly becomes very clunky. This might be due to how squirrelmail's is built. So I am staying with RoundCube....speaking of which... Why is that default install of RoundCube does not come with a calendar plugin? Lack of calendar is really what got me looking towards SquirrelMail - as it burned my eyes I looked towards NutsMail. Thank you, |
