<laugh> - That actually happens here on the coast too. I grew up in Ontario and on the Praries. lots of snow - here, not so much and they all freak out. Of course, I never needed an umbrella for snow until I moved here... freaky.

Here is a good point. Though you DID come across as unsympathetic, and sounded like they were just making their troubles up, it is still pretty unprofessional for the company to call you ignorant in public like this. Sure, they may be going through a lot as well, but still.

I'd hate to see what they called me if I ever happened to ask a "silly" question because I didn't know any better. Would they LAUGH at me like they laughed at the guy who asked if the hatchling plan was 6.95 a year? Or just call me ignorant?

HG staff, what do you have to say about this? I seem to really like you guys in general but if I'm going to be called names I don't know what to say about that.
