noob with question...

First timer building a website at Wix.com. It was fairly easy and it has flash and I am wondering if Hostgator will host it? Also, need a domain which is available according to Whois! It is a bass fishing club website for our state and need a reliable and inexpensive host. Never done this before, so not sure what to do next. The wix website I built came out pretty good and I will need to continue to fix, correct and build as I go. I think our club officers want to get it launched and then I can fix the rest of the site if that is allowed. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I don't know, how would I check that? Tell me where to go check what you are asking. Sorry, very new to this stuff, so I am limited in knowledge although I could help you if you needed to draw on Autocad, lol.

Does Wix offer FTP ?

Wix doesn't have FTP . We only host the document that are created by our users .
You can't upload external files to Wix .

From what I can tell this appears to be restricted to their own internal hosting:

You may want to contact their support and see if you are able to use a 3rd party host with their service.

Alternatively we do have two free Site Builders that you can use with your hosting account Site Builder and Site Studio.

Hmmm! There is a co-worker of mine that also built her website on Wix and her sister somehow figured out how to get it hosted on ipower. I will have to call her to see what she did.

It is easy you just need a bit of know html. they give you the code to paste into your page. I'll have to go on my wix account later and I can create a short tutorial.
