Question noob question

I just registered, and am wondering why http://mydomainname.com works fine, but http://www.mydomainname.com doesn't

This could be a caching/dns problem (most probably on your ISP side) - I would give it 24-48 hours to be absolutely sure that its not cache/dns that just needs refreshing or something.
But then again, Im a stress bunny when it comes to sites not functioning, so you might just want to double check with someone else to see if they have the same problem when viewing your site (preferably not with the same ISP).
