Default Non US customer - restrictions?

Hello,

I'm no techie so my questions can seem rather stupid, and if so please forgive my ignorance. I'm a newbie.

I'm based in Hong Kong and want to get the Baby package for my small online business.

Will there be a problem with me having a web-host that's based in the US? I will be selling my products in US dollars, and will most likely be using PayPal to manage multi-currency transactions.

I just wanted to make sure that I will not be restricted to things like only being able to sell to US based customers.

If anyone has any knowledge of any restrictions or complications from doing this, I would love to hear about it.

Thank You!

Unless there are some local restriction in Hong Kong that doesn't allow you to host outside of the country I can't see any problems with this.

You will probably find in China some restrictions but the rest of the world can pretty much "do what they like".

There are a huge number of HG customers outside of the US and selling sites all over the world.

Thanks for your reply Fred!

I think you're right, and I guessed as much that that's the way most of the free market world worked, but just wanted to make sure before I committed financially.

You are welcome and don't forget that you can pay for your hosting on a monthly basis. So if something goes wrong you can always take your site and go somewhere else.

On the topic of multi currency.
It is easy enough to integrate multi currency pricing structure on your site.
I use this script and find it works suit my needs. http://dynamicconverter.com/

Just put a notice somewhere that the billing will be in whatever currency and you can cater for any currency you want.

Yes I find it a great find too. Especially since it can be integrated into a few of the shopping cart systems. Too bad it's $39 a month to get it to auto detect the users country and adjust for that pricing without having to choose the conversion.

Still a great find, thanks.
