There's a request for email notifications for downtown / server issues and its over a month now without HostGator responding to the community despite 104 polled answering "yes, please email me". The poll was run using the forums here. There has been no one who's said "don't email me".

Would you like to say where? It was a valid question/statement unlike the answer it received.

Thanks Brian.
Although I could not see a link? I am pretty sure now that either Hostgator staff are on drugs or have no interest? I asked that they would reply to messages posted in this forum and be polite in doing so and I was asked in return, could you please supply an example? There comes a time when people become too clever. Quote:

We have responded many times to this and it is something we are working on. In the meantime, we will continue to post everything in http://forums.hostgator.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14
thank you for your patience

Kudos on that.
I agree that the more proactive the notification (email, etc), the better off we are, but we should give credit for HG's obvious efforts on this front. I've noted that they've been posting when a problem is expected or detected, with regular follow-ups here. As a person prone to complaints on occasion myself, I want to say that I appreciate that effort. It has been pronounced the last few days, and speaking for myself, that is all I expect - the effort to keep your customers in the loop so we can do the same for ours. Thanks Brent. |

GatorBrent,
I thought it was worthwhile telling prospective customers about my experience, hence the forum. The lack of reply, as I saw it, was indicative of poor customer relations and interaction with the HG client community. If I were a prospective customer I would want to know if a company was listening to its users. Forgive me but I have never seen HG respond to the forums about this issue. Can you point it out? Worst of all since you guys have mentioned it many times I truly haven't been paying attention. Cheers, -Geoff |

they have made allusions to a solution being planned, dotted around the forum. Some are direct, I'll give them that, but they're none of them in the thread where it has been requested, and it is left to us to search for a relevant post throughout the forums. It's almost as if they're scared to answer a question where it's being asked...
