If I were to both register my domain and host the website with Hostgator - would I need to wait the ~48 hours for my domain to propagate?
Thanks! |

Hello Jordan1,
You would need to wait for dns propagation anytime a domain is registered or updated with new nameservers. We recommend 24-72 hours but most times you should see changes occur within hours. If you use opendns.com for your dns resolvers on your computer, it will be much quicker and you have the control to force a refresh of the dns resolvers. When you order the domain with your hosting online, our Pending Team will setup the registration and nameservers for you. If you do not see the domain online within 24 hours, I would suggest you email sales to check on the status.
