So pretty new to this , not even sure if im on the right part of the forum ...
I used sitebuilder to do my site , I like the ease of it all , but i dont like not being able to customize the template , like the little pictures off to the side and certain backgound stuff . Is there a way to edit them or make my own on photoshop and upload them ? or is that not an option ? I had also tried uploading wordpress cause everyone on another site says that what i should use for my bloging , but im stuck on getting it uploaded to my page ... I followed all the steps and im stuck on the ftp upload , i tried with Firezilla and Core , but cant seem to connect them to the server . Im not sure where to send them ... and it asks for the admin password , and i tired my cpanel password , but thats not working , and tried my pass for sql data base for the wordpress database i created ... still not sure what to do . thanks for any help ! |

"not even sure if im on the right part of the forum"...
Do you have a Windows Dedicated Server? That's what this section is for. If not, you might ask an Admin to move it to the right area. It would get answered faster and better in the right section if this isn't it. As to Sitebuilder, search the forums and read what people say about it before using it too much. What you are experiencing is just the least of its problems, imho. With even the cheapest Shared account, you have a large number of better alternatives, many of them free. Filezilla works well for me. Make sure you use the right info to connect: hostname: ftp.your-domain.ext (replace "your-domain.ext" with whatever is your real domain name) user: your-cpanel-account-name pass: your-cpanel-account-password The above assumes you have a Shared account. (Pretty sure that's correct for Reseller, too). Hope that helped. |

No, you want to keep the port as 21 for FTP...

You can also install WordPress by logging into your cPanel and going to Fantastico.
