Smile Newbie questions

I just signed on a couple days ago, and I have a couple of questions.

First of all, I'm unable to use Frontpage. I've submitted several tickets, and reinstalled and THEY reinstalled also. It's still not working. Although I've gotten very quick replies from support, they have yet to fix the problem. Does anyone use frontpage successfully?

Twice today Apache has failed, according to my cp, and I was unable to get to any of my sites. Is this a common thing?

Thanks mellow!

Actually they fixed the problem with Frontpage last night. Now I can at least connect and publish, etc. I guess I'm a bit nervous about new hosts..the last 2 I had were BAD!

But anyways, now I'm having another problem with a Frontpage form. When someone clicks on the "submit" button, they are asked to "login"...which shouldn't be happening. It's supposed to just save and email the form results. I think this has something to do with the permission settings on the vti folders...but I'm a little leary of changing the permissions on them.

So...if anyone here has any clues, I'd appreciate it. In the meantime, I'll get back to googling for answers!

Yeah, those are common problems with FrontPage. It takes some tweaking to get things just right!

i know this might sound a bit daunting mychelle but i would recommend ditching frontpages solution and trying some PHP i realise its scary but if you explain what data you want to collect from a form then i can even write the PHP for you and make it either email or store the information however you like including a database although a mysql database would require you to make a username and password but it really wouldn't be more then 10-15mins work for the whole thing

Thanks mellow. I'd really appreciate it if you could make me a php form. I know very little about php other than being able to add mods to forums and "follow directions". I wouldn't even know where to begin to make a form from scratch. I'll pm you with the info.

Again, thank you so much!
