Default Newbie question about rules violations

Hi all. I'm new to hostgator.

Situation is that I want to host a forum in hostgator.

There will be download links to newest games and movies in forum threads & posts. I am thinking about putting them in bbcode tags. All i know is that its more safer regarding to search engines.

Main question is, will i get suspended? Because i know some hosting companies, where i would get banned for using hosting for this purposes. Cause you all know, paid games, or movies sharing is a pirate business because of copyright violation...

Thanks for your replies.

Any site with links to pirated material will be shut down.

If you have to ask the question, you should already know the answer!

Some nasty stuff going on there, including an attempt to force installation of some sort of "viewer."

Time to alert HG security. Thanks for the heads up.

I don't know how. OpenDNS has the domain resolving to an IP address someplace in Ukraine. Post a screenshot of what you're seeing.

On top of that, HG security told me that they had shut it down.

And check out this:

Do you see anything involving HG there?

I just said the site was up. I didn't care enough to check who is hosting the domain. But thanks for your diligence.

As you can see from the screenshot I posted, I'm not getting to the site at all, no matter where it's hosted. Please post a screenshot of what you're seeing.

Interesting. Somebody is caching something, somewhere. If it's not your browser, maybe it's your ISP.

Everything I check produces something like this:

I'm seeing the site as well. Actually, it works for me using the domain without www in front. There is no A Record for www so if you are trying to access the site using www with the domain then it would give the error message.

Ah, yes, right you are!

Well, at least it's moved offshore now. And from what I can see of that domain's history, it's not the first time it's been chased off a web host - 78 nameservers in 6 years. Is that a record of some sort?

Yes, I should simply have paraphrased the original question:

"I'm planning to set up a website that violates U.S. law. Will HG turn a blind eye to that?"
