Hi all, my name is Denise and I would like to get feedback on using Hostgator's Biz plan(13.95 per month, if paid for 12 months in advance).
We have a produce business and I am not recommending that we go with VPS or a dedicated server. In a chat I just had with someone from HG I was told there are fortune 500 companies using HG as a webhost. Can anyone tell me if they have a medium to large business and use a webhost or maybe did in the beginning until they sort of grew out of it and wanted to have a dedicated server of their own? Thank you much |

I don't know what sort of feedback you are looking for. The hosting plan you use relates to the type of website and expected traffic, not your business size.

nwcountry,
I would also recommend to read the "term of usage". Number 2, 7 and 11 are important. http://www.hostgator.com/tos/tos.php As both personal and professional experience for me, HG is an excellent place for hosting.

We host many sites that get thousands of hits per day, and don't cause any problems. On the other hand, we have clients who get a couple hundred hits per day, and cause strain on the server due to their scripts being inefficient. Are you using any sort of Content management system on your site? Is it blog based using wordpress (are any plugins used?) ? Is it straight html? I would recommend starting off with a shared account, and move up if needed. Letting us know what kind of site you have could help though. |
