Any further news on setting this up for reseller with or without branding. Much cleaner interface then those available.
Thanks, Hal |

The following should work fine: Make a CNAME in DNS for webmail.resellerdomain.com sub-domain: webmail.resellerdomain.com CNAME IN webmail.hostgator.com and then webmail.clientdomain.com CNAME IN webmail.resellerdomain.com That means that a clients webmail.clientdomain.com refers to your resellerdomain which in turns refer to hostgator. You can do this on behalf of client if you have access to their DNS setup somewhere or tell your client to do this. They do not have to know Hostgator is behind this. regards Paul |

That would work BUT it says "powered by HostGator" at the bottom of the login page.

Also, I entered the CNAME information and the site is not doing anything different...

The example shown above is wrong. In the zone file of domain resellerdomain.com you can have: Quote:
So, the example above is explicitly the same as this: Quote:

That's great, I could have done that a long time ago. But I want it to be natively on my subdomain with customization and adding my own logo (and changing "powered by HostGator"). When will this be available?
Thank you jayzzer |

Thanks for the correction.... Who else have problems with sending email with the new Webmail? Am I doing something wrong in a setup somewhere? I can only send emails local where MX points to Hostgator servers and not to an external domain away from hostagotor servers. thanks Paul |

I have bought my version of Nutsmail on their website and just install it on my server and used a bit of my knowledge to go in SSH and change the Alias to point to the script when user point to http://your_domain_name.com/webmail or http://their_domain_name.com/mail
It is working extremely well and customer have told me that they really apreciate the new webmail interface.

Ok this is how I've done the installation of webmail for my dedicated server. This is only for my dedicated server that I have bought here at hostgator. If you have a dedi somewhere else, some step will not be the same.
I went at www.nutsmail.com, selected All skins in the left menu, chosen XPBlusSky Skin, selected buy it now, I have scroll down in the list to find XP BlusSky 1.4.6 with only one skin(XP Skins: $29 USD One time) Add to cart... I have created an account at the same time that I have bought the nutsmail interface so I could go in after I have bought it to get my licenses number to add it in the config.php files. You can view and download your order in the My Account section on the nutsmail.com website. So that's where I have downloaded the nutsmail interface in .zip format After I have create a folder call webmail (in the public_html folder) on my main account on my server(you can choose another account if you wish but I have chosen the main acount because I own it). I use my main account so I can monitored the webmail and I'm not sure about this but hope that bandwidth will be count on the main domain where the webmail script is insert(should be my main domain) instead of my customer account. I have uploaded the entire script to the server by ftp in the webmail folder under my main account.(public_html/webmail) Next I did change some minor thing in the config.php(webmail/config/config.php in the public_html folder) for the nutsmail to work with my server. I have change:
Now for the Alias in SSH, if you don't have your box(I mean have control on dedicated server or like me, have a dedi from hostgator) You will not be able to change the alias in SSH. These steps are on a hostgator dedi box with RedHat Enterprise 4 i686 and WHM X v3.1.0

Any news on the reseller version of this. This would be a strong addon for my clients. Can somebody from hostgator give us an update. It seems stable enought to make it a reseller feature...

I cut some things out of this reply..
"We are currently working on allot of new things at HostGator and unfortunately we have set the Webmail system on the back burner at this moment but I will personally see to it that it gets completed soon for the reseller and dedicated customers. Currently we're using it in our shared environment to work out all of the bugs and are almost complete with that. If there is anything else we can assist you with please do not hesitate to ask. Regards, Ben Gabler Support Operations Manager,"

Just had a problem trying to forward a message from the Nutzmail interface. 1st attempt was hung trying to send for over a minute. Upon tying again I got the following:

Good point Jhive!
I agree with you for the most part, but there is another aspect to service that is more important to Dedidicated and resale hosts. That is QUALITY; I would rather be patient and wait for something that works than have a product full of bugs that will back log my ticket system and make my customers mad and wonder WTF is going on. What it looks like HostGator is doing by esl posts is testing the new webmail on their shared host to work out the bugs etc. before releasing this to their customers who have customers with more at stake. |
