Can you install nutsmail or other mail client as a shared hosting user or do you need dedi? I have a shared account w/ addon domains at this time.

You can have it on a shared account. There's also the one that comes with cPanel, accessible at yourDomain.com/webmail

the webmail hostgator created is great except if your not in central time zone it will always show the sent and received time stamp as central time. Pretty annoying that you can offset it.

All hostgator servers are like this. Its really annoying.

I haven't used the HG webmail in a while since I moved to a dedicated server but you should be able to change the settings in the Personal Settings section of the Options to display the times according to your timezone. The headers would have the timestamp using the server time but with accounts on the shared servers from many timezones it would be impossible to do otherwise.

This thread is concerning the use of using http://webmail.hostgator.com to access webmail. It looks like you are on a windows server (perhaps in the beta program HG mentioned in another thread?) so I am not sure if it is set up to access those servers. When you get messages like the one you copied you should submit a ticket.

Your domain resolved or forwarded to a windows server a few days ago.

No, this has been in place for a long time. If you're having forwarder troubles file a support ticket.

Wow... so the thread ended February 11th (last comment) did I miss an update somewhere? Looking forward to this theme's availability - I MAY (or may not) recommend it to my clients. This is really my only complaint with Hostgator is the UGLY webmail system...

Other than that Hostgator ROCKS for service... i email support@hg two-three times per week.... always perfectly technical and timely answers...

let me know if I missed something and/or when this will be available. Thank you.

I forgot about this "new" web mail, saw the thread a couple of months back. I end up in this forum just before i go to bed after my "antibiotics"!
Anyway, I logged in with one of my addresses and it looked pretty.
To answer your question, I went to my free hosting site with my reseller account (yes I am confusing) created a new email address, then opened a new browser chrome (cos firefox kept going back to the first email account)
I logged in and it worked. But i do not know if my reseller account knew I was the boss and gave me special privilages?

Web mail worked on my hosting site (baby)
Web mail worked on my hosting site in my reseller (diddy) account.

So is the new BLUE webmail working? How do you enable it? On mine I still have the three choices of squirrel, horde and the other old one...

I see the problem now, for reseller you either have to tell them that, Not good, Link to it still not good, How do you get rid of the HG connection.

Yes this webmail has been working for months. You don't "enable it" on a reseller account but you can install your own non HG branded webmail client if you wish.

Sorry...just getting started on HostGator, but as a Shared account user it only gives me Squirrel mail as a choice...is this something that can be added on for mydomain.com/webmail...or is the ONLY way I can access this is by using http://webmail.hostgator.com ?? thanks...Landon

and how can i make the user names and passwords for them to edit their own sub domains is that possible

On a shared hosting account you have three webmail clients. SquirrelMail, Horde and RoundCube.

You need to go to yourdomain.com/webmail or webmail.yourdomain.com.
