I didn't feel like it was a good idea to run my sites on a crashed out recovered server.
I signed for another account at HG. I got put on server "infinity". DNS changes at enom.com were very quick to propagate. (About 15 minutes.) After about 2 hours of account setup, ftp and email address creation I was done. My sites now work. But I did have my own backup from 1-1-04 for most things. I wouldn't stay on Supra if I were you. If you plan to stay at HostGator I recommend doing what I did. (resign & be placed on another server.) If you been with HG for a while then there's also the additional disk space and bandwidth that is now being offered. (about double what it was when I signed on originally back in April 04.) I wish all of you lots of luck in dealing with your clients. Hopefully the new year will progress to end up much better than it started out for us. |

Brink, What *specific* steps did you take to accomplish a server move with HG? I've been requesting this since Monday..still no response to tickets or chat support...I'm not trying to be a smart ass. Outline it for us...step 1..."I spoke with someone on the 866 number who issued a credit to my visa", step 2 "I signed up for new hosting online via www.hostgator.com, etc. and followed the welcome email that was sent etc." Mucho thanks. No rush...two companies have me in good hands now. HG is on backup detail until they prove their worth :-)
Wish you all the *very* the best, Kev |

Went to http://www.hostgator.com/resellers.shtml . Selected the plan that suited my needs. & signed up like a new customer.
Durring the sign up process the script will ask you if you are a new or existing customer. Select existing. The rest is fill in the blank. I believe the setup process fro actually creating your new WHM and ect. is automatic and script driven so it requires no one from hostgator to actually set it up. Of course after you are all set up on the new machine you will need to fill out the form to have you supra account closed. (which I haven't done yet) I moved on tuesday night. It was a good decission from the looks of the "new" problems that now exist on supra. |

Still can't create new FTP users...
and we're all still having that PHP problem... This is making me sick... what are you all on vacation today or something? HostGator hasn't given us so much as a squeak on the issue today. I have posted many times... I have emailed many times... I have done the live chat many times... and nothing. I still can not create FTP accounts. And everyone's PHP scripts are still not working. Are we going to get some answers or what?

Good luck to everyone, it is time to move on.
Like I said in my e-mail to you Brent, no hard feelings. But this is why I transfered all of my domains, even those not on Supra. Give these people some answers, some feedback, something!!! Sure you're going to get beat up, but at least people get some "face" time. Anyway, good luck and I hope this gets resolved!!! |
