My Google Analytics shows less than 1% of users having 800 resolution. In fact, there slightly more users with 300 px, 400 px resolutions, which are obviously coming from mobile phone. I guess it is high time to keep 1026 as the minimum with for fixed width designs.

But they're still squeezing everything into a narrow band. I really think it's time to decide that anyone with an 800x600 monitor isn't looking for web hosting, and let the layout breathe a little.
