New HostGator Website Design!

As I am sure you have all seen already, we have changed the site at www.hostgator.com to a new sleek and more modern design. There are still a few pages that have not been completely updated but they should be finished within the next 24 hours. (Including the forums!)

With that being said, we would love to know all of your opinions on the new design. Feel free to post your opinions, comments and suggestions for what we can do to make it better. Or just post if you really like it! (Or hate it! ) We look forward to hearing from all of you!

We hope you enjoy the new design, it is just one of the many new features and upgrades coming to HostGator in the next few months! Thank you all for being with us and continuing to use our services!

At least the gator doesn't have 4 eyes now - the very top section never lined up properly.

The index looks good, white links on black is the worst part of it. The forum however is a big mess, but you know that right?
To improve it, use width and height on ALL the images, nothing worse than a slow jumpy loading site, looks real unprofessional (it is slow loading on dialup - passable slow)

If you can't see the change (the top logo bit is now white) press ctrl F5 to refresh from the server or you'll just be refreshing from your cache

Its a nice design, here are my comments...

Pos:
Cute new banner
Quick Support access link from the main page.
Excellent color contrast
Excellent price display of services provided underneath the nav bar

Neg:
Seems very busy. (Too much information on the main page)
Contact number on the bottom of the page ( Had to scroll to find it )
Nav Bar does not fit into scheme ( Maybe change size or color? )

Other Info
The older design had a cleaner look and feel to it.

I really like the design of the site - just a few glitches i noticed, nothing majorly big, just thought i'd mention them

> Navigation bar looses its Bold character face when your in the forums

> There is no affliliates link on the Nav. bar from the forums (its in the code, just doesn't appear )

> If your in the ticket section of the site, the affliate link sends you to "http://www.hostgator.com/ticket/affiliates.shtml", which doesn't exist.

EDIT: Also the link to "Knowledgebase" in the central support section doesn't work

Sorry didn't see the date of this thread, I thought it was referring to the recent redesign which occurred last week if I am not mistaken. The basic navigation is the same but most content pages have been redesigned.

Hadn't noticed (I don't have much occasion to visit the main page, and the forums haven't changed).

But they're still squeezing everything into a narrow band. I really think it's time to decide that anyone with an 800x600 monitor isn't looking for web hosting, and let the layout breathe a little.

I agree, the 'narrow band' layout has been getting on my nerves ever since I got my widescreen laptop.
