Hello,
My name is John and I just joined HostGator last Friday evening. I didn't really browse the HG Forums. It was the reviews on several websites that got me and on top of that I paid just $0.01 for my first month with coupon code. I got $9.94 off my purchase, and registered my domains with GoDaddy.com, because I have never used any other registar (no offense to HG). So far, so good. I love it. The only problem I had was like three minutes downtime due to the HTTPD server (cPanel and FTP worked, but the port 80 wouldn't load properly, but it got fixed immediately). It's affordable, reliable, good customer support via ticket systems, email or phone. I just wanted to say thanks to HG for making everything so simple for me. |

I did come across one issue. I was trying to get cPanel 11 on here, but I wasn't aware it was just a cPanel 10 theme that made it appear the servers ran cPanel 10. I also wanted to change my primary domains, but the live chat woman told me to just email support@hostgator.com, so instead, I create a support ticket. I decided after that to give chat another try and this guy fixed everything. Updated my theme, directed me to the exact page to change primary domains, and assisted me very quickly. I have no idea what this woman was doing...

As you are probably aware, we are growing very fast and are hiring people left and right, and while it is not an excuse, sometimes the trainees might give some wrong information or not know how to do some things. Or furthermore have access to WHM to change this, that would explain why you got this answer. Our first line of defense can usually accomplish a lot of the common issues, such as theme changes and this should have been handled then.
