I just signed up and moved a couple of domains under development to Hostgator to give them a try.
On the plus side: Signup process was quick and easy. Everything worked just like it was supposed to. Had to contact support with a couple of questions about setups and the response was quick, complete and accurate. My old shared hosting was down on an almost daily basis and support was lacking. It's nice to be able to log on and actually work on my sites whenever I want. On the negative side: Originally I complained about a couple ads on the control panel. Actually it was only 2 of them and it really wasn't that big of a deal. Read the next reply. Last edited by mack; 06-24-2007 at 02:47 PM. |

Just wanted to throw in an update. Been here over a month now and here's my experience so far.
I had 30+ domains, 28+ sql databases on my shared hosting account. It was getting a bit much to manage under one panel, so I upgraded to reseller. Instead of clicking on upgrade (like I should have) I just opened up a reseller account and was starting my migration. Ran into a minor issue and opened a ticket. Support told me they would do the migration for me. I said OK. Everything went smooth, zero down time, really, none, it was seamless. I talked with support on the phone once and they really do a great job. I'm a happy customer, would recommend Hostgator to anyone. |
