have you all noticed the new chat logo image on hostgator pages.
Its Very impressive and serves both chat and phone contact purpose.

Lol it's not like you have gone as far as godaddy, they're not half naked so you're hardly abandoning morals to make a sale or "corrupting the world"...

In any case I still think a gator with a head piece would look better in the live chat...

i remember few yrs back one of my friend gave an newspaper advertisement and wrote "for further details email "rina@hissitename.com" and to our surprise many guys called him and said yes I want to have a website but i would like to talk to rina for sign up. lol

I don't think "gator with a head piece" would be so cool and would certainly not look so clickable :-)

Brian and I spent some good time yesterday finding a girl that looked normal and didn't make anyone think they were clicking on an XXLIVECHATXX link

I hate to sound like a fogey... but on your seohosting.com site... that bird is posing to show off her looks. And whilst she is extremely delicious, her looks have nothing to do with the service you're offering.

One thing I appreciated about the previous live chat graphic, was that it said 'online now'. Whilst I know you're always online, it's still good to see for new users who might not know the Gators are 24/7.

I agree. And I'm embarassed to supply this anti-feminist argument: not only does she look like she's taking hotel reservations but there's no indication she knows anything about computers or hosting.

That's a great point, and it also told people that it was an online thing--the headphone and the phone numbers look like it's only a call center.

I'll toss in another usability factor and one nit pick.

Take the 1s off the phone numbers. While most people in the US need them for long distance calls, some don't--and they tend to confuse international callers. People who need to use the 1 know they need to use it. It would also be better to say "Houston area" instead of "local".

Nit pick: the capitalization. It should either be "Now hosting over* 700,000 domains" or "Now Hosting Over* 700,000 Domains" but not "Now Hosting over* 700,000 Domains"

*Real nit-picks get an asterisk. It's considered better usage to use "more than" than "over" for quantities.
