new account redirect to search page

Hi,

I am posting here because for some reason if I login in the forum I can NOT post in the non-public part of the forum.

I am asking a probably already discussed question but I can NOT perform searches on the forums either. Already contacted HG to sort these problems.

However, the thing is, I have a new resellers hosting (aluminum). HG did a pretty good job moving here my 15 sites from my old host with no downtime and my own nameservers.

This evening I have created my first new account in CPanel with a new domain name just purchased. I have installed WordPress and to my surprise if I open the page it shows a search page. If I open it using IP/~login it shows a crappy version of the site (with no graphics).

Creating a new account with my old host (also shared) would allow me to visit the site immediately!

Searching around in google (since I can not search here) it seems that HostGator hijacking the site is quite "normal"? When will I be able to see my site? I am very disappointed since this evening I was supposed to work at the new site instead of being here asking questions.

Sorry again to post in the wrong section since I can not access the forum properly. I believe however this could be interesting for anyone considering to join.

It generally will take some time for a new domain to propagate no matter where you host. If you provide the domain name we may be able to check and see if it resolves for us and if there is a problem with the set up we may be able to help.

Thanks, this morning the site is visible. I was not used to propagation times when setting up a new site, now that I know I won't be so surprised anymore

usually propagation takes minutes, but in some cases it will indeed take up to two days to propagate globally.
I use this propagation checker http://www.opendns.com/support/cache/
It shows domain's current propagated status. Very nifty tool I might add
