We're currently experiencing a problem with resolving RBL lists such as spamhaus and dnsbl. Due to this our mail servers are hanging connections and causing a "too many connections" error message to some of our users.
It doesn't seem to matter what resolvers we use currently as these hosts are just not resolving at all: root@bmw [/etc]# nslookup sbl.spamhaus.org Server: 67.19.86.18 Address: 67.19.86.18#53 Non-authoritative answer: *** Can't find sbl.spamhaus.org: No answer root@bmw [/etc]# nslookup sbl.spamhaus.org 4.2.2.1 Server: 4.2.2.1 Address: 4.2.2.1#53 Non-authoritative answer: *** Can't find sbl.spamhaus.org: No answer root@bmw [/etc]# We are working to restore service to normal as soon as possible.

Is this just for shared servers/reseller servers or are dedi servers affected aswell?

This is currently affecting all boxes in the datacenter. Also our office in Houston is affected as well:

This issue is no longer occurring, we were able to resolve this issue midday today. We do not expect this issue to reoccur.

I'm assuming this refers to incoming emails getting bounced?
If by mid-day today, you meant mid-day August 21, then it's not fixed. I've gotten dozens of complaints about emails not being accepted, including some as late as 8pm yesterday, Aug. 21 |

We are still having issues also. All of our sites and email are down. We are on the Avenger server.

This is killing me. All of my resold clients are calling and complaining

avenger.hostgator.com is displaying not found for me. If that is the server address it is down.

Ok found out the problem on one domain. The site was over Quota.
But I just created a brand new site marcotek.com and it is still not working I am trying to move it to google. |

if you've recently updated the nameservers you would need to wait 24-72 hours for the DNS to fully propogate.
