Network Outage -- Resolved!

We are currently experiencing an outage affecting multiple servers located with one of The Planets Dallas datacenters. We are aware of the problem and working closely with The Planet to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

The Planet's Dallas Phase 1 DataCenter has experienced a failed UPS, resulting in a power distribution issue affecting a large portion of that facility.

The facility's management team is on site and working to correct the issue. We will have further updates as soon as they become available.

I too am shocked to hear this. I though that this was exactly the sort of thing that the big guys like HG and The Planet were supposed to be good at preventing. <sigh>

When I received the first downtime report, I thought maybe should last a few minutes..but didn't expected it to go over 30 minutes. Hope it resolves soon.

The UPS (Uninterruptible Power Source) is what protects from outages except when it goes out.

Mine is still down. I thought business was relaxed for me in the past hour, but realized my site was down so the emails weren't being sent. Do you know if missing email will be sent after servers are restored?

This issue is still unresolved at this time. Some servers are back online or coming and going. This is to be expected during these types of outages.

Once we have final resolution we will update you accordingly.

Also, due to this being a power vs network outage the servers would have shut down fully. We are expecting several servers to go into an automated fsck and are ready to address this when they do to get them back online.

I have just confirmed the power issue has now been resolved. Any servers still offline are doing an automated fsck.

We are having our datacenter techs go and bypass this immediately to get everyone back online as soon as possible

I will provide an update with exact details in regards to the outage shortly.

There are a few variables including the sending servers retry limits. There is no 100% answer but what I can tell you is that the mail would not have been able to reach our system. If the sending server does a retry it will be able to shortly.

I am on Gator1103 and I don't think I got any downtime! I am excited and want to see a downtime just for fun LOL!

No system is foolproof! I wonder why people want hosting companies to be fully flawless! Things can happen!
