Default Network Issues

Hello Everyone,
It appears that customers are having issues accessing their sites. At this time, the issue is only affecting ATT/Comcast users who are on reseller servers, rondo and barracuda. We are currently working with the datacenter to see what the issue is and will update this forum thread when more information is available.

We thank you for your continued patience!

We have tracked down the issue with our DC and they are contacting AT&T to get the routers corrected. We hope to have this resolved soon.

Just an update, our datacenter is still awaiting word from AT&T to see perhaps what the issue is with AT&T's peering to their 4th internet border router (ibr04). Internetpulse is currently showing a bit of latency and packet loss between AT&T and Verizon so there may be a downed router somewhere that's causing this, but you can get an at a glance look of general internet health for major providers by checking here :

http://internetpulse.net/

As of now we are aware that this may be affecting Comcast/AT&T customers on the reseller servers :

barracuda, pacer, and rondo

We have also had some reports that dedicateds were affected by this. If you cannot access your server whatsoever, and believe this may be the case, please submit a ticket to support with a full traceroute from your location to the main server IP so we can see what route you're taking. Thanks!

Hello Everyone,
We apologize for the big inconvenience this is causing to some. However, at this moment, the situation is out of our control. I requested an update to see where issues stand right now. We are still awaiting AT&T to reply with more information. The sooner we have an update, the sooner we will update this forum thread. We ask for your continued patience during this matter.

Just a heads up, the problem has been resolved by AT&T on all 3 servers. We are still awaiting a full detailed report from them to see why these were being blocked.

Do you have any further info on this issue? I would be very interested to know what happened. Was it in fact active blocking, or perhaps a DNS issue? From my vantage point the IPs were not being routed between Verizon and AT&T in New York. That represents traffic through a peering point involving top tier providers. - thanks, Mark

I have an unmanaged dedicated server and live in Canada. My connections to both HG and any of my dedicated sites have had periodic issues the past few days.

So bad tonight my e-mails are timing out with my business domain, which is on my dedicated......Everything else as fast as usual (regular e-mail account, all other internet activity).

For the record, I'm experiencing delays with my sites and email on HHR.

I'm also experiencing delays loading the HG site and forums.

My ISP is Comcast.

What was the verdict on this? Was ATT actively blocking Host Gator systems? More than a year ago we changed our dial-up service from home due to their actively blocking sites which provide DNSBL (dns black list) information (used by anti-spam software such as SpamAssassin SpamPal). This took a lot to time and effort to research and weeks went by before they admitted to us what they were doing. When they refused to fix their dns blocking we changed isp's. Even though the modem's we go through are bellsouth/att, we do now have access to those previously-blocked sites. IIRC, recent FCC ruling would make that type of purposeful blocking something which the FCC would be willing to investigate. Just thought I'd toss that info out, FWIW.

Yeah. Apparently AT&T and Comcast have actually finally gotten into trouble for blocking sites or something.
