Hi there! iceishot.com recommended me to check you guys out!

I would like to ask you a few questions. A few hosting services have been a little elusive when it comes to the use of their webspace hosting media files such as sound files and movies.

a few people have suggested that I ask companies that I'm considering if they have a problem with me uploading movie files and audio files to be remote linked to my main site as a host for downloading. These files are movie clips that are freely distributed over the net by many gaming sites and they are used as promos for upcoming games. (such as metal gear... the theme of my site) many of my affiliates host their media through their servers so I don't see that it should cause a problem, however I thought I would ask before anything else. I was curious as to whether or not this would violate your TOS.

I'm also a little confused with the wording in your TOS with these two parts:

Quote:
HostGator.com reserves the right to change the monthly payment amount and any other charges at anytime.
Quote:
The amount you pay for hosting will never increase from the date of purchase. We reserve the right to change prices listed on hostgator.com, and the right to increase the amount of resources given to plans at any time.
could you please explain how you won't change the amount I would pay from the day I purchase (monthly) and yet you also reserve the right to change the monthly payment? Does that mean you can if you need to/want to but you won't until you need to? (if that made any sense )

That's all I can think of right now!

Best Regards,

That def isn't the clearest but basically with a host even if you do one thing you have to say another to prevent being sued.

Your price paid wont change, but the price listed on our website might. The best example would be with our dedicated servers. The prices on those drop all the time on our website, but of course we can't drop the price on one you are already paying for. Reason being when you originally signed up the prices we paid for the server would have been higher.

On shared and all other types of plans well upgrade you without a fight if the new plan is better then what you originally signed up for.

We have no problem with you doing the remote linking as you say. So yes everything is allowed you mentioned.

thanks for the reply! I'm looking at a number of hosts and I still have about 5 left. I'll be sure to get back to you when I make my decision.
