Default Need Help Real Bad

Hello. I purchased hosting recently. Once I was given the IP, I went to the IP address. The page I was taken to had "Gvtasia.org" on the top. Was I given this domain as part of the hosting? Or was I given someone elses domain? I also logged into cpanel and it worked...

You need to put your username after the IP address.

Follow this link.

Thank you, I fixed everything. One thing though, how should I go about setting the DNS? Should I set the domain to:

http://gvtasia.org/~daedalus/

or

gvtasia.org?

Set the DNS servers for your domain at the domain registrar where you purchased your domain to the two DNS servers that are listed in your welcome email from HG.

http://www.hostgator.com/dns.shtml

Your welcome email should have all this basic info in it.

In your first post you sound as if "gvtasia.org" has no connection with you. Does it or not?

If not, you should use your own domain. If you don't have one, you need to register one (unless you want to use your shared account and account name without a domain, in which case follow the instructions in your welcome email.)

Striddy is right about setting the nameservers at the domain's registry...which you can't do if the domain is not yours.

It looks like the OP figured it all out as the domain does have the nameservers set to HG nameservers now. I clicked on the link given in an earlier post and then clicked on a link in the site and it worked.
