Need help pointing my new domain to my Host Gator Account

Hello,

My name is Darren and I am looking for some help from all you pros out there.
I am a complete novice here but learning fast. I have an Host Gator account already registered with a website up and running www.drumlessonsbeginners.com. I am using Joomla to run the site; I have just registered a cheap domain with 123-reg.co.uk so that I can experiment with joomla modules before moving them on to my main site.

My problem is getting my new domain to point to my Host Gator account: I know I have to update the DNS information in the 123-reg control panel and then add a sub-domain to my Host Gator account. Seems simple but looks complicated in the 123-reg control panel.

I would really appreciate any advice from anyone willing to help me out with this problem.
