Hello,
VPS Level 3 and above WITH cPanel support come with all of the features of shared hosting. If your VPS does not have something when it is provisioned, please let us know and we will do our best to install it for you. The only difference is that by default your VPS will be running MySQL 5.0, and our shared servers are running MySQL 5.1. This will most likely not impact your sites. Yes, we can install memcached for you; however, please remember that you are on a VPS, which is a limited memory environment, and your VPS functions as a single core CPU, except at the higher levels. Therefore, unless you are experienced with memcached, AND purchase a VPS with high enough memory limit, you may best be served by using an alternative caching method. Additionally, memcached needs to be paired with a script that specifically supports it. For WordPress, you would need something similar to the memcached object-cache.php file from here (see here for more information) in order for it to make any difference. There is a charge for the installation of memcached. You will need to email support@hostgator.com for a quote. No, a dedicated IP cannot be provisioned for an addon domain, because IPs are dedicated to individual cPanel accounts. However, on a VPS you may create as many different cPanel accounts as you wish. Therefore, you may dedicate one of the IPs to a single cPanel account. For instance, you have the domains/accounts: joe.com / joe bob.com / bob harold.com / harold To start with all are on 1.1.1.1 You want harold.com on a dedicated IP. You can set that in your WHM (which is the server administration side of cPanel) so that you have: joe.com / joe / 1.1.1.1 bob.com / bob / 1.1.1.1 harold.com / harold / 1.1.1.2 You will have unlimited databases (limited only by the total available disk space). If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to email support@hostgator.com, or contact our live chat or telephone technicians. We are here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for your service. |

We have several people using memcaching on the Level 3, 768MB ram plan. In most cases it should be fine.
