Default Namecheap

Just looking a namecheaps domain buying thing with privtae WHOIS and wondered how reliable they were? When people start giving things away alarm bells start ringing so i though i'd check to see if anyone had any experience with them.
Thanks.

Been using them for a 2 years now with no problem.
Easy to work with. Only require the amount of the registration fee for that transaction to be in deposit, since they use paypal makes it real easy, and don't have to keep dollars on account with them all the time.

I transferred my domain from Hostway to Namecheap because of their horrible service.

Transfer took a while but it went fine.

Until my domain keeps on pointing to a different ip address for reasons unknown to me (and for them as well... saying that it is not their fault). They are kinda rude in answering your queries... and it takes more than a day to get a ticket answered.

I give it a passing mark since maybe it was a problem with the transfer.

But personally, I'd rather go to Yahoo.

Hope this helps.

Try www.adotname.com - it's even hosted here at HG!

I have over 65 domains registered at NameCheap and never had a problem. I had more problems with some of the bigger registrars. But like anything, "stuff" happens... I never had to contact there support so can not comment on it. But for the cost and interface with your accounts I have been pleased so far.
The last 2 transfers and last 15 new domains I created with them, they all propagated for me in anywhere from 10 min. to 6 hours.
Just like HG, I never had a serious issue with them, where others have. There is a lot of Luck with anything or anybody you go with. Nothing is perfect in this world.....
I still haven't won the lottery yet. But I will try again with my $2.00 a week allowance.

I transfered a few domain names to namecheap, i moved to them from registerfly ( they stopped accepting paypal ).

Haven't had any problems with them yet and any newly created domains were propagated almost instantly.

I've been using NameCheap for three and a half years and haven't had any problems. Although I have only needed to contact support a few times, they were quick to answer and knowledgeable.
