Default n00b question

Yay! Moving from blogger to Self hosted WP.

I bought the domain address via the google app thing and its almost a year old. I have a lot of stuff (documents, important and stuff) there that I don't really want to move it from there to host gator so for how I will be buying web hosting from host gator and continue using domain from google. Keeping this in mind,

My questions are:
# I run a PC Hardware review blog. On blogger I get about 600 views with occassional 4k-6k views per day. I can't really spend that much money because my project is still brand new and yet to start earning properly via advertisement revenue. Photos will be hosted somewhere else. Hatchling should just fine, yeah?

# How do I redirect url to where I hosted WP in hostgator? I was told that when I buy hosting space from hostgator, I will get the nameserver. All I need to do is change the nameserver on the domain host's Cpanel and I am good to go. Is that all I need to do?

# I've checked out the cPanel demo. I will be going for the 1-click WP thing. Just out of curiosity, if newer WP comes will be updated automatically or manually?

So..If I am doing this, I should be doing in the following order yeah?
Buy Hosting space
change the nameservers
Install WP (naked URL, no subdomains n all that)
Transfer the content
install a theme

Sorry for asking for "free" help but yeah, I will be hosting on hostgator pretty soon.

You would want to install WP and transfer the content before changing the name servers.

I am not sure how blogger is set up but if you have FTP access to it the transfer department should be able to copy it over so you wouldn't have to do a new install.

Blogger doesn't give FTP access. He will have to copy paste the content.

The Sorcerer, your steps are more or less right. I don't think the WP will be auto updated.
