Default MySQL Upgrade

Any chance of upgrading MySQL above version 4.1? I really would like to use subqueries.

On the same topic: I've never used PostgreSQL, but does the version installed support subqueries? I really, really don't want to have to re-write my pages to use PostgreSQL, but I guess I could if I have to.

Thanks,
- Ryan
