Smile Mysql Temporary Tables

I am evaluating hostgator for hosting my web site. I'm using php and mysql. My question is: does hostgator allow mysql 'create temporary table' commands and the use of the temporary table data (i.e., inserts and updates to the temporary table) within a web page? Temporary tables do not persist after the user session closes (in PHP), so they don't cause memory leaks or other load issues on the server.

The offline version of my website works perfectly with the mysql temporary tables. I have inquired about this with a few other web hosts, some allow temporary tables and others don't.

Thanks!

it will be way better, and faster, if you contact HG directly via the live chat (top right) or via email Sales at Hostgator.com

This is the type of question that potential new customers might expect to see answered on the forum, since it is not addressed anywhere else at HG. Same issue with mysql views, stored functions, and stored procedures (does HG support them?).

Since this is a user forum, are there any users who use mysql temp tables, views functions, or procedures at HG?

Thanks, David, for the response on the stored procedures. But what about my original question, mysql temporary tables?

Why don't you contact HG, find out what the answer is, then post it here for the benefit of other forum visitors?

Answer according to HG chat technician is:
mysql temporary tables: Yes
mysql views: Need to call HG to enable
mysql stored functions: Need to call HG to enable

These important mysql capabilities need to be addressed in the HG faqs so all can see (the HG tech agreed). I wonder what other database or scripting capabilities exist that HG doesn't advertise?
