Hey everyone. HostGator seems to have more than it's share of extremely satisfied customers, and a few detractors as well.
I'm considering moving from my current host, they're very slow to respond to tech support, have NEVER communicated with me in 2 years except if I was late with a bill payment. They change policies (like locking users out of MySQL using external connections) without telling us (even after), and the servers are just plain slow. So - here's my question. One of the problems I have is that their MySQL machines seem pretty slow. The webpages (mostly) load OK speed wise, except the ones that talk to the databases, they're MUCH slower if they manage to load at all. And I'm not talking about complex pages. Even simple login pages. Anybody here want to comment on these speed issues from the user perspective? Thanks! Looking forward to joining HG. Jeff |

The speed here is amazing and the support is wonderful. I haven't had a problem yet that wasn't solved within 1 hour of the ticket. As you can see with these forums their MySQL DB's aren't slow at all. I'm guessing your old host was just in it for the money.

I suspect you'll be pleased with Hostgator......
At least until you've been around a while, start to take the excellent service for granted and forget how bad things can be with other hosts. I've been with some good hosts and some bad hosts, but none has been better than hostgator when you consider everything involved. Good Luck! |
