MySQL Issues on Impala?

I wakeup to find a floor of error reports from my custom applications that reported the MySQL databases on our account being inaccessible. The reports started at 8:45, so at that time or slightly before something strange has happened.... I went to cpanel, and all services were fine. I could access the DB's via PhpMyAdmin. Go to the MySQL section of CPanel, and all database users were gone. Every last one of them. Recreated one for a critical app, and it was up and running fine.

What happened, and is there any way to restore the users?
