Default MySQL CC connectivity problems

I'm trying to set up a MySQL Control Center so that I can remotely access my mySQL databases. Having some problems which I think are related to my username being auto appended...

I enter my web host admin username of "uname" and when I attempt to connect it becomes "uname@h-66-xxx-xxx.DNVTC056.covad.net". This results in a failed connection to the dtabase and a returned 1045: Access denied error.

What am I doing wrong here?

At a guess, I'd say try adding that host name to your hosts list in the MySQL control panel and then add 'uname' to the host if possible...

I'm taking a shot in the dark, but similar things have worked for me on MySQL systems before because of the way it adds host names to user names...

Default Re: MySQL CC connectivity problems

Ok I realize this is a really old post but what the heck...

I'm getting this same issue. I setup the remote mysql config screen with not only my internet facing IP, but also my dynamic DNS name which resolves back TO it. I have Dreamweaver setup properly, and no go.

The only way I can get it to work is by plugging the wildcard % into the remote mysql config on the cpanel.

What gives? I talked to a noob via online chat at the hostgator support and he told me a system administrator would have to help me.

Thoughts? I use this setup on my home linux box running centos 5 and I have no problems connecting from remote locations. This is a new one for me.
