Default MySQL, Apache versions on dedicated

I'm considering a standard dedicated box, and will be using it mostly as a fail-over/load balancing partner for my colo box. Since this is a dedi, I'm assuming there's no problem installing specific versions of various software, ie:

Apache 2.2.4
MySQL 5.0.xx

Etc... The Dedicated Servers sales page said something about "MySQL 5.0.24 is available upon request for shared accounts only", and 4.x for other accounts, so I figured I'd better double check

I don't see that on the dedi page at all so you might have found that on one of the other sales pages. I'm pretty sure that you can install what you want/need on the box as long as its in line with the TOS. There should be no problem to install those versions from any restrictive standpoint.

You have to click the little '?' icon next to the MySQL field to see the info I mentioned.

Like you, I can't see any problem installing those apps since it's a dedicated box, but I didn't know if perhaps there was a problem with cpanel or anything that precluded certain versions.

You should be OK installing that. For Apache 2, make sure you're running cPanel 11 (just came out on release builds, coming out for stable builds on june 4th but a lot of people are running it on the release build).
