Does anyone know if there is a JDBC driver installed on the server, if so what version/name? My client wants to use java to access MySQL.

JDBC is a driver interface, and like alll java things it is os independent.

there are JDBC drivers for My-Sql, PostGres, MS-SQL, Oracle ... etc.

Most hosting companies do have them by default in their tomcat lib directory. However, if they don't here .... that doesn't stop your client from putting it in his lib direcrty.

However, Gator really SHOULD provide them, that way you can make sure they are compatible with what is out there.
