Default MySQL 5.1

OK, MySQL 5.1 is finally out of beta. It has some key features such as partitioning and event scheduling that could be crucial to those of us running sites with large databases.

Any thoughts on when this might go live for your faithful HostGator resellers and shared users?

5.1 offers a lot of new features and performance gains but it has a ton of bugs in even the release version of it.

I hope 5.2 is at LEAST a few months off until the bugs are fixed.

I'll sacrifice some new features for the less likelihood of crashed unrecoverable tables

So is there a suggestion of whom I should ask to get a plausible response? I looked into the cpanel forum but found nothing so far.

Hi James,
We are looking into upgrading to MySQL 5.1. I have it running on my development server, there are a couple of things we are looking into before we will upgrade the servers to it.

The upgrade shouldn't be bad at all once we do it. We will post a forum post once we are ready to upgrade.
