My site www.cameracraniums.com has just stopped working about 15 minutes ago. Can someone check whether it's just me, or whether the server is down please? 74.52.178.130

Thanks for that. How do I find out what my server is called? I notice they all have names.

We're currently having some issues with that server and currently our system admins are working on resolving it as soon as possible.

You can do a traceroute on the domain and it will give you which server you are on. I believe you are on gator193 but my memory may have failed me again so I would double check.

Gator138 has been terribly slow lately. Any updates on what's going on?
I told someone to move to HG, I am installing and configuring their shopping cart and then I can't even show them the work because the server has been having issues. At the moment the box is responding to pings fine: Trace Route seems normal - but still cannot FTP, Access CPanel or see the site online. What's being done to this box and can the client request to be moved to another box? I may have to move him to my reseller account on corolla if this doesn't work out. |

That is the number my site is on, it has been down for hrs now. I am getting a bit upset since I pay money to have a site.

Moved my site to Hostgator a couple of weeks ago, and over this period I've had a few times when this server seems to stop working just for a few minutes at a time. My main concern is the speed. It's very very slow. I thought it was just my site, but it appears others are having the same problems on this server.
![]() I'm also assuming after reading the posts above that 74.52.178.130 = Gator138? |

yep, mine too. It's working right now but I am getting random timeouts and serious slowness. I haven't been here very long but I must say I am not happy with the level of service (support has been great, just the downtime that I'm not happy about) I have gotten so far, constant random slowness, my site just randomly going down for up to a minute, 2 minutes etc. I certainly hope this all gets fixed and my site starts running more smoothly (and faster) very soon.

Thanks Mr Bond.
![]() Only been here a couple of weeks myself, and have had a similar experience so far, with random timeouts etc. Seems to have settled a bit now, except for the slowness. That said, in the last few minutes my site is back up to speed again.

Traceroute is slow for that purpose. Use nslookup. Code:
nslookup IPnumberHere |

My site was down again about 15 minutes ago, strange thing is when I checked in my Cpanel all my databases had disappeared
. I checked the server status in live chat, and they said there's no problem with the server. Now they are back again and my site is working. ![]() Any ideas why my databases disappeared?

Most likely the MySQL service on the server had to be restarted. That will cause the databases to disappear in your cPanel until the service is back up.

Thanks Rick, hopefully that was all it was.
Have to wonder why live chat didn't pick up on that one though.
