Positive My Review

Hi. I have a reseller account (under shovehost.com) which I use for a mixture of hosting my own sites along with some clients and just random people. Here's what I've got to say about HostGator.

Ease of use: great account control panel, very intuitive, cPanel is good of course, WHM is fine, and the HostGator website is OK.

Support: pretty good. A few times I've been frustrated with the Live Chat operators but usually they're pretty on top of it, helpful, and I don't usually wait very long. I've never used phone or ticket support so I don't know about that.

Service Uptime: Very disappointing. The server everything in my reseller acount is on, "mitaka", has not made me very happy. I lost some hosting customers because of it, and once in a while the FTP is very slow...but hey everybody can have issues, it's not really your fault but it's still not what I've come to expect from HostGator (I had two shared accounts before I upgraded to a single reseller account)...

Speed: Usually it's decent. Not remarkable but better than some other companies I've used

Reseller: I think you should allow some overselling on the reseller accounts. The only way to stay competitive with prices these days is to oversell and I feel my little hosting business is suffering because of it.
Additionally, I feel that it would be great if we could restore sites from backups for customers, not have to go through HostGator to do it...

Summary: Overall I like HostGator, except for the downtime issues and not allowing overselling on the Reseller accounts, so keep up the great work everybody

Well, I always use Live Chat Support.
Never used the Ticket system.
