Default My new clients website

Hi guys,

I have just finished a client's website and would like have some feedback on it. One thing is I probably will not change a lot on it because it is the client who knows what he want but at least I would like it for me so when I do another website so I can learn from this one. The Newslleter is not working yet because the client is still on is old server. I will change him to my server when he can get his DNS change. I have tried to connect to my server for the db but just can't manage to make it work.

I would like also to let me know how much you would have charge for this project. He sent me all texts and pictures.

The link is www.canadiantimber.ca

Thank you very much for your time.

Best Regards,

It looks great Jean! The green background makes a huge difference from when I last saw it and the home pictures on the front page are very good.

It was change in a matter of second because I use the template is in a header and a footer so it was change on all page in a sec.

Tx esl. I know you have viewed the site from scratch and it is for me, once you have seen it too much, ya just don't know what it really looks like. LOL

Best regards,

Looks great!

My only thought is that the text for the content of the pages is a little too close to the boarders for my taste.

Liam,
Thanks for the background. It really does a difference with and without it.

Jean,
I think it would be cool if you added a "Bookmark Us" link on it's home page.

Hey Jean. I really do like that site. Looks like some kind of OS CMS, but it ain't.

Easy to navigate, easy to tell where I was on the site. Nice colours, not too strong not too soft. Generally neat.

We would charge around 50,000 Baht for such a site - that is approx. 1,315 US$

We base our charges on a few factors.

1. Page count, charge 1,650 Thai Baht per page for "page assembly" (us$ 43)

2. Design Issues: we charge separately for graphic design, cost is based simply on the amount of time that I KNOW it will take to do design work nnn/X

3. Coding issues: some clients want WAI compliancy, others want WC3 comp, others want CSS comp, some want all, others don't care. Big difference in that so we charge EXTRA BIG for fully compliant sites.

4. Search Engine READINESS. We feel that SEO is just a big fat con, we make pages that are "ready for indexing by search engines".

5. Additional factors such as image galleries, interactive components, flash items, database backends, cms template design, all these factors are costed out simply by me working out how long to do it and charging around 1,000 Baht per hour of work (us$ 26)

Hope the fiscal feedback is of use to you.

Cheers

The only thing I am not able to do right, is to get the design to touch the top of the window. I got my stuff in the css to get top-margin to 0... but still no luck, I have like 30 tables in this design so I need to find what is causing it.

Best Regards,

Hi Chaloupe,

Site looks great! You've done a great job on it. The backgrounds does indeed set the site off nicely. As far as that margin and space on the top, Im not exactly sure myself. I'm still an old user of frontpage and haven't had any problems moving content to the top simply by using the direct placement feature inside the tables.

Hope you are well!

You might suggest that your client change this:

We are a Canadian manufacturers of panelized homes and material packages. Supplying packages across Canada, the United States, Europe, and more….

to this:

We are a Canadian manufacturer of panelized homes and material packages, supplying packages across Canada, the United States, Europe, and more.

(or We are Canadian manufacturers. . . .) Just a little thing, but to screw up the language on your homepage might give the wrong impression. Otherwise very nice.

Thanks for all your input guys!

I have sent the grammar error to the company so they can investigate further and let me know if I need to change it or not.

I am still working to make the top of site to be at, well the top... I have remove the height from the "div" like said in previous post to test it but no luck. It must be something from my main table surrounding the design...

Bookmark has not been approved by the company. Not sure why but I did explain them what it was for and did not want any thing more on the site.

Thanks Kimbot for you input on how much you would have charged for it.
