I switched from an unknown reseller to HG, just a few days ago. I didn't really have a problem with my hosting from the reseller until my site was down a week. Reseller said had something to do with the hardware failing. Well it was a week until I said, that this waiting was ridiculous, reseller said that he was restoring accounts manually so that’s why it took so long. Well soon after I canceled with him, I started to look for new hosting. I went straight to hostgator because hostgator was my first choice when I was looking for hosting from the start, reason I didn't go with HG was because the price for the "swamp" was $15. It was a little steep for me. Well sucked it up and bought a swamp account.
Their support during my short time here was excellent. Every ticket answered within a hour at most (These tickets weren’t very high priority) And if I had something major that needed attention and it was just taking too long, I would pop in to the live support chat and talk to one of the support team and they got right onto the problem. I needed the php memory limit upped, Put a ticket in, took a little long around 3 hours probably because it was my fault for putting a low priority. Just went into the live support and talked to them within 10 minutes I was installing my forums that I had trouble installing due to the limits. Everything went great until a day after I got hosting. This was when everything went to hell. I was attacked from a freak ddos attack. I didn't know what the hell was happening to the site, one minute I was setting it up for my members and then the next minute I couldn't access my site. After fifteen minutes of this, submitted a ticket after I knew what was going on. My site was suspended. Well I will make the ending short. My site was suspended indefinitely because of that ddos attack. And I was directed by the staff to cancel my account, that they couldn’t afford to host me because of that. I guess I agree with their decision because if my site was ever ddos again, I would be affecting other customers on the server and it would be bad business to keep a account holder that has problems. Reason I put it neutral was because the hosting experience was the best I ever had. I can't put it in words. But with my hosting ending like this, I'm not exactly happy how this turned out. What's your ticket number on this?
Is this the first time you were dossed? Is it just bad timing that within a day of joining us you get dossed? What type of site is this?

My ticket number is RIA-222475. Yes it was the first time I was ddos, I wouldn't have known it was a ddos unless I saw my forums which had over 800 members while I usually have around 30 members online at anytime. And fortunely I was in my awstats at the time and noticed my bandwidth getting used up which I then realized it was a ddos. I would of guess it was bad timing I had never had a experience with a ddos before. And my site was just a anime discussion forum.
